Salvaging Cypress

Many of our logs come to us due to old age and a natural death, or because of flooding. October 2018 brought Central Texas a record amount of rain, the deluge seemed to never end, and caused the rivers to flood. Cypress trees grow huge along the rivers here, some even dipping their roots in the water. They are massive, monumental, and vital trees, but some simply can't withstand the brute force of the raging floods. Salvaging these beasts is no small task but it is worth the beautiful return of gorgeous woodwork that can be enjoyed for many lifetimes! Here is Rob with a salvaged Cypress log, there are so many options here, what to make out of it?
